What are Small Groups? They are gender-based groups that meet bi-weekly to discuss the Word of God, specifically as it relates to Sunday and/or Wednesday messages. A lesson is created by a team of trained leaders to assist as a guide for the discussion. Lessons can be downloaded by all participants.
Cell groups meet in the same week, but not on the same days. It is in the small group where many will build true relationships with other believers. This is where one has freedom to share fears, doubts, and struggles one to another, as well as the reassuring peace of discovering that you are truly not alone.
Why Small Groups? We discovered early on in ministry that everyone is not good at making friends and an invitation to small group is one step toward connecting with others. Small group also gives people an environment to recover lost voice and expression.
Why are small groups important? Holding information on the inside has proven to be unhealthy.
- When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. 4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Selah 5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD"-- and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Ps. 32:3-5
- Therefore confess your sins (faults) to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 5:16
How do small groups advance the Kingdom of God? When others are able to express themselves and receive prayer heaven gets involved. Guilt and shame are eradicated when conversations are not followed by judgment. Being a part of God’s plan for the earth requires us to interact with one another making it crucial that we practice getting along, and the forgiveness that comes with trying. various other consulting services.
